arreosambar.com
Just in case you haven't noticed, this blog has moved to its own domain today...! And I must say that the move has been seamless. A year ago I had whined, shouted and finally gave up trying to move this blog onto a custom domain. It was such a pain in the ass, I quipped. A lot has changed in the mean time.
That was the time when Google Apps was first introduced. Then came Checkout. Now Google has finally has hit the bulls eye by offering this as a package to blogger users. So, all I did was say to Google that I would want to switch to a custom domain in a couple of clicks. To be exact, Setting --> Publishing --> Custom Domain. As I didn't own the domain I wanted, Google suggested that I could use Checkout and get it fast. I would also be getting a free apps package - Mail, Documents, Chat and more as a part of the deal - All for 10 bucks.
The move was a breeze as I already had a proper checkout account. So, in a few seconds of buying the package, I got my blog pointing to the new domain. No juggling with CNAME records and A Records this time. To top it all, in a single click, I got an email account - mer@arreosambar.com alongside this.
WOW! Simplicity at its best...! This is why I stick to google all these days and all I can say is
These guys know their business...
Just incase you are lost and don't know where to look in your dashboard, this screen shot might help.
A small request:
Although Google would help me by redirecting all the users pointing to arreosambar.com, If you have linked me to your blogroll or have mentioned about me elsewhere over the internet, please update the link to point to the new domain so that I can get my search engine juice! Thanks in Advance! :-o)

he he..! Seriously, it was not a matter of money. It works out to around 400 INR per year. But, the sense of ownership and the satisfaction of running "my own blog" is tremendous! :-)
Do give it a try if possible!

Thanks for your kind words dear "Reader". I'm not sure if I have to take it as a compliment or change my writing style to make this blog more impersonal.
My opinion is that it should be a right mix of both and I believe that its the way that I'm heading.
