Presentation on a few basics of Photography...

A few of my colleagues who share the same passion as I do for Photography are running a Camera Club at our office. Our monthly meeting is tomorrow and I'm talking about the Effect of Aperture on Depth of Field, Effect of ISO on Exposure and the Practical trade offs between A, S and ISO.

The Nifty Fifty...

So lastweek, I got my XSi a new companion - The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens. Also called the Nifty Fifty, this is one of the cheapest lens available to mount on a D-SLR. Being a prime lens (Fixed focal length of 50mm) this poses new challenges to shoot. Yes, you have to zoom using your legs by moving around and recomposing the shot to get the results that you intend to get out of it. But the real speciality about this is that it opens up to give a very very wide aperture thereby yielding a very shallow depth of field and an awesome bokeh.

Really looking forward to shoot a LOT of pictures using this new piece of glass.
