For the second leg, we switched on the "classic tourist" mode and headed over to Langkawi. After a customary visit to the Sky Bridge which is built on top of a 800m high peak on one edge of the island, we checked into our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised since the backpackers hotel that we chose turned out to be on a prime location with a lot of activity. Joseph and I decided to do some Jet Skiing and by the time we made up our minds and got into the water, it was already sun down.
It was a huge dilemma for me. One one hand, my heart craved for the extra bit of adventure in riding a Jet Ski into the sunset, something that I haven't done so far. The other half of me wanted to stay back on the shores and capture what would turn out to be the perfect sunset in the whole of our trip. The adventurous part won over and I'm actually quite pleased that I did it.
We returned a few minutes past sunset and as we entered the "blue hour". Suresh, the model pictured here had already brought my gear onto the shore and I setup my tripod and hurried away to make a few shots. I had time to shoot exactly 2 shots before darkness engulfed the beach and here is one of them.
This isn't one of my perfect attempts - especially the part where Suresh's head turned out blurry could well have been avoided if only I had not been in such a hurry. It is a lesson well learnt.

When I downloaded this shot onto my computer, I got into thinking what could I possibly write with this shot and the first thing that came to my mind was this situation song from Bob Dylan.
Beyond the horizon, behind the sun
At the end of the rainbow life has only begun
In the long hours of twilight 'neath the stardust above
Beyond the horizon it is easy to love
I'm touched with desire
What don't I do?
Through flame and through fire
I'll build my world around you
Beyond the horizon, in the Springtime or Fall
Love waits forever, for one and for all
Beyond the horizon, across the divide
'Round about midnight, we'll be on the same side
Down in the valley the water runs cold
Beyond the horizon someone prayed for your soul
My wretched heart is pounding
I felt an angel's kiss
My memories are drowning
In mortal bliss
Beyond the horizon, at the end of the game
Every step that you take, I'm walking the same
